Counterparty Classic is the original version of Counterparty which was first created and launched in 2014 via the “Proof of Burn” system where 2,130 Bitcoins were provably destroyed to created the native XCP utility token used on the Counterparty Platform. Counterparty Classic is a token platform which extends Bitcoin in new and exciting ways and is a community driven version of Counterparty where the community proposes, discusses, decides, funds, and integrates changes into to the Counterparty Classic Protocol via the Counterparty Improvement Proposal (CIP) system.
