Last week we shared a monthly recap of Counterparty updates, today we’re back to our regular weekly post bringing you all the news from the past seven days.
From the Team
The biggest news from the team this week is the launch of the Counterparty Foundation website and naming of the Board of Directors.
As announced in our post, the official Counterparty Foundation website is now live and can be found at http://counterpartyfoundation.org. The website will serve as a source of information offering news updates, documentation, and resources related to the work of the Foundation. Furthermore, it will be the central point of our membership program where individuals and companies can register to become a Counterparty Foundation member and enjoy a wide range of benefits, including getting their name/logo listed on our Members page.
Moving forward, the Counterparty Foundation will act as an independent voice between the community, industry and end users, promoting the Counterparty technology and its uses and ensuring development efforts are being focused towards continuous advancement of the Counterparty platform. This goal will be carried out by the Board of Directors, consisting of five directors, and the elected Executive Committee.
Official elections for the Board of Directors will be held on April 2, 2015.
For more information on the election read our Foundation announcement post.

Development Updates
We had some big news in our development update last week. Most important change is the integration of multisignature addresses and free asset names in Counterwallet. These features have been released on mainnet and will become available by block 333500. More on that in our upcoming development update.
In other news, we just hit 250 closed issues on GitHub (the counterpartyd repository). We thank everyone for their contribution, whether it be by reporting bugs, submitting feature requests or helping with code development. We have come a long way this year, and we hope to see an increasing number of contributors to the Counterparty project as we go forward.
Finally, we would like to announce the development of a Counterparty Desktop wallet. In the following weeks developers will start working on a cross-platform compatible wallet. We will keep you posted on the progress in our Development Updates.
Support Updates
This week we have two new knowledge base articles:
- Counterparty Federated Node and counterpartyd with Bitcoin-Qt and addrindex Patch – a guide explaining how to upgrade Federated Node and counterpartyd to the new 9.47 version
